Continuing Professional Development
for Customs Brokers

The Australian Federation of International Forwarders (AFIF) and myfreightcareer (mfc) are proud to announce details of their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Accreditation Program for Customs Brokers.

As members would be aware, the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (Customs), have announced that one of the new conditions applicable to a Customs Brokers Licence will be the requirement to undertake accredited Continuing Professional Development.

Over the year commencing 1 April 2013, a Broker must attend a sufficient number of accredited CPD courses to acquire a minimum of 15 points. This will increase to a minimum of 30 points per annum from 1 April 2014.

The Partnership

The Australian Federation of International Forwarders (AFIF) is the primary industry body representing international freight forwarding companies and customs brokers in Australia whilst myfreightcareer, a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and a Group Training Company (GTC), was established specifically for the Customs Broking, International Trade Logistics, Freight Forwarding, Shipping and Aviation industries. myfreightcareer has recruited and placed trainees with numerous freight and logistics companies in every Australian State.

AFIF and myfreightcareer have partnered for many years to deliver elements of our freight forwarders procedures training programs to the industry and are continuing this partnership in developing the CPD program.
